The S&P 500 (SPY) dropped -2.16% this past week. Sector decliners beat advancers 9 to 2 as shown below in the sector graph. Energy (XLE) -3.84% and healthcare (XLV) -3.82% led decliners down. Consumer discretionary (XLY), financials (XLF), industrials (XLI) and technology (XLK) each had losses of over 2%. Communication services (XLC), consumer staples (XLP) and materials (XLB) each had small losses of less than 1%. Real estate (XLRE) and utilities (XLU) each squeezed out minor gains of less than 1%.

The Dow Jones index (DIA) fell 2.19% this past week. The Nasdaq (QQQ) subtracted 1.85% on the week.

Overextended conditions send Wall Street lower on Monday. Stocks finish lower despite Target strong earnings on Tuesday. Investors play waiting game regarding China trade on Wednesday. Lower global growth drop stocks on Thursday. Stocks flashed red on Friday following lackluster jobs report.
