Wall Street expects big rally after Mueller finds Trump campaign did not conspire with Russia
Saul Loeb | AFP | Getty Images Wall Street traders and investors were preparing for a big rally after special counsel Robert Mueller’s long-awaited investigation did not find enough evidence that President Donald Trump ‘s 2016 campaign colluded with Russia, according to Attorney General William Barr.
The S&P 500 (SPY) slipped -0.08% today. Sector advancers led decliners 6 to 5 as shown below in the sector graph. Consumer discretionary (XLY), consumer staples (XLP), energy (XLE), industrials (XLI), real estate (XLRE) and utilities (XLU) each had small gains of less than 1%. Communication services (XLC), financials (XLF), healthcare (XLV), materials (XLB) and technology (XLK) each suffered minor losses of less than 1%.
The Dow Jones index added +14 points (+0.06%) to close at 25,516. The Nasdaq gave back 5 points (-0.07%) to settle at 7,637.

Stocks finished mixed on Monday as interest rates ignite fears regarding recession. Economic outlook fears started on Friday as the interest rate yield curve inverted. An inverted yield curve is when the 3 month treasury bond yield is more than the 10 year treasury bond yield. Investors often consider this a recession signal. The Federal Reserve also lowered its economic outlook last week and forecasted 0 interest rate hikes in 2019.
